Bo-Bo and Jo-Jo

Bo-Bo and Jo-Jo were two monkeys that lived in the wildest jungle in Africa. They were twin brothers. They are always getting into some kind of mischief but their mother still loved them both with all her heart.

“We are going outside to play,” said Bo-Bo.

“We want to play in the big tree,” said Jo-Jo.

“Be careful on that tree,” said Mother. “You know what happened the last time you were on it.”

“We will be careful,” said Bo-Bo.

“You better be,” said Mother.

“I don’t want Bo-Bo to get hurt,” said Jo-Jo. “So we will be careful.”

The last time Bo-Bo and Jo-Jo went outside to play on the big tree, one of the limbs fell down and almost hit Bo-Bo on the head. It missed his head but it did hurt his baby toe and it was very painful for Bo-Bo to walk on.

“I don’t want to hurt my baby toe again,” said Bo-Bo.

“Good,” said Mother.

Bo-Bo and Jo-Jo went outside and they crossed the big field to get to the big tree that they wanted to play on. However, they couldn’t find it. They spent an hour searching the area for it and it was nowhere to be found.

“Where did the big tree go?” asked Bo-Bo.

“It was here the other day,” said Jo-Jo.

“Yes,” said Bo-Bo. “It was.”

Bo-Bo and Jo-Jo went over to the spot where they knew the big tree was and there was no sign of it at all.

“Now that is strange,” said Jo-Jo. “Where did the big tree go?”

“What big tree?” asked a snake, who was poking his head out of a hole in the ground. “There was no tree here.”

“Are you sure?” asked Bo-Bo.

“I am sure,” said the snake. “There is a big tree over there though.”

The monkey’s looked over the snake’s shoulder and they saw their big tree.

“That tree wasn’t there the other day,” said Jo-Jo.

“I know,” said the snake. “It is a magical tree. It moves from one place to another.”

“Oh,” said Jo-Jo. “No wonder we couldn’t find it earlier.”

“How is it magical?” asked Bo-Bo.

“It will move from place to place when a limb falls off of it,” said the snake.

“Oh,” said Jo-Jo. “That is what happened the other day. A limb fell off and hit my brother’s baby toe.”

“Oh my!” exclaimed the snake. “I am sorry to hear that but did you know that you are now the new king.”

“What?” asked Bo-Bo.

“You are now the new king,” said the snake.

“Why is that?” asked Jo-Jo.

“If a limb off that tree falls onto someone’s baby toe,” said the snake. “It makes them the new king.”

“That is wonderful,” said Bo-Bo.

“Yes,” said Jo-Jo. “It is wonderful. I am so happy for you.”

“Thank you,” said Bo-Bo. “I will be the best king ever.”

“I know you will be,” said Jo-Jo.

Bo-Bo and Jo-Jo went home and Mother was waiting for them at the door.

“Did you two get into any mischief today?” asked Mother, sternly.

“No,” said Bo-Bo. “You are actually looking at the new king.”

“Are you serious?” asked Mother. “How can that be?”

“That tree limb that hit me on the baby toe the other day turned out to be from a magical tree,” said Bo-Bo.
